Unbreak My Heart

I've received questions on how I completely moved on from my past relationship and how I dealt with the heartbreak. For the benefit of my readers, my recent heartbreak was 2 years ago, from a long term relationship.

Before I go on, just a disclaimer, this post is not meant to air my dirty laundry. It's for the benefit of those who are on the same boat to know that you're not alone and it's not the end of the world. In a matter of fact, it's just the beginning. Mark my words.

Unfortunately, the circumstances are as such that it had to take me awhile to come into terms with the break up.

My advice, go through it, not around it. Cry and scream your deepest sorrows aloud, I know, you were betrayed, your heart is shattered. It's okay to cry. Release all that sadness and anger! Go for a run if you need to, sign up for kick boxing classes if you feel like punching him in the face! Don't go on a self destruct mode. I know most of my friends would resort to alcohol and partying all night long. That's merely a temporary fix to suppress your emotions instead of letting it out of your system.

Yet at this point, since you still have your love goggles on and everything is still fresh in your mind, it can be tempting to call or text him. DON'T. It's not worth it. If someone could easily call it quits on you, I personally feel like they're just not good enough for you. That is a major red flag! Don't sell yourself short. You deserve only the best.

You'll eventually come to a point where you're beginning to accept the break up. Stop locking yourself in the room. Go out, meet up with friends and make new friends. A break up is not entirely bad thing. Find the silver lining.

You're ready to take on the world, girl! Take on a journey of self discovery and learn to love yourself. Occupy your time, reflect, change up your look, do some retail therapy, take up that dance class or sport you've always wanted to, travel, learn a new language, try out new adventures, skydive and the list goes on.

While you're busy loving yourself, you'll start noticing the confidence you never knew you had. And guess what? You're not the only one who notices that. That guy you have a crush on probably noticed it too!

The universe has it's way of waking us up to all the red flags we've denied to. *Blame it on the love goggles.* It's a good thing for my case that he initiated the break up cus most of us are so reluctant to change (me included) that I know I will never have the guts to call it quits even when the boat is clearly sinking. I could've been stuck in it for good and wouldn't see my life the way it is today.

Above all, I keep telling myself that there are bigger problems in the world. What is a heartbreak compared to that? To date, the only void that I'm still struggling to fill is the loss of my dad.

Wear your confidence and start making new friends, make lots of them and keep your options open. Take your time if it's a life partner that you're looking for. Don't settle just yet. One may be tall, dark and handsome but with a shitty ass attitude, your looks are nothing. Look out for the red flags.

When you least expect it, the one to sweep you off your feet will eventually come. Nothing and no one is worth looking back for when you're with someone so amazing. Thank you Allah for blessing me with this beautiful gift.

My rainbow at the end of the storm. Don't dull the sparkle in your eyes ❤️ Nazzmie

My Handy Dandy Y5Buddy!

How do you survive a road trip?

15 years ago, when the world wide web was non-existant, I survived on books, magazines, crossword puzzles and radio to last me the trip. As much as I love chaneling the bookworm in me, I hate the fact that these books contributed to the weight and bulk in my backpack.

15 years later, I see myself predownloading as many movies, music, ebooks and games to last me the trip. It keeps the family entertained. Sayonara big bulky backpacks!

Even on a holiday, I want to stay connected. To share my real time wanderlust adventures with the rest of my family members and social media.

You can thank me after this cus I've found a device to get me connected throughout my trip!

Introducing you to Y5Buddy

This small guy over here became my bestfriend throughout my Cameron Highlands trip.

Eventhough I had issues with the connection initially but it was resolved in a jiffy when I contacted the team. They were very prompt with their response.

The wifi device works like a hotspot. Since I was in a rural area of Cameron Highlands, I wasn't expecting much from the connection. But it works perfectly fine except when I'm in a moving vehicle. It can connect up to 10 devices. For $9 a day, that's value for money!

If you're keen on renting this device, you can visit their website for more information @

Ultimately, do it in moderation. Staying connected can be distracting at times. Afterall, the purpose of a holiday is to unwind, relax and have a jolly good time with your loved ones. Let's not get too consumed by our gadgets.

Let's remember to live the moment. Till the next entry!

Cameron Highlands Getaway

Today I'm feasting your eyes with images from my Cameron Highlands Getaway last May. The initial plan was to celebrate my birthday in Sapa, Vietnam. Off I go to get away from the hustle and bustle.

You know what stopped me?

These lovely birthday cards from my adorable nieces. Awwwwww.. That's it! They're coming with me for my birthday trip! We can't possibly afford a trip to Vietnam for all 8 of us. I figured Cameron Highlands would be the closest we can get. On top of that, I want it to be an educational trip for the kids with the cooler climate and all sorts of farms to visit. Their favourite were the strawberry farm. Without further a do, here comes the photos!

The breathtaking view while we were on our way to the BOH Tea plantation. I could wake up to this everyday.

We had the chance to visit an orang asli village at the end of the trip. It serves as a self-reminder to us all that life demands struggle. Those who have everything given to them becomes complacent, selfish and insensitive to the real values of life. The very striving and hard work that we constantly try to avoid is the major building block in the person we are today. With that, im grateful for my struggles cus without it, I wouldn't have stumbled across my strength.

That's all for a quick throwback on this long weekend. I'm clearly itching for another one but I've to remain disciplined for what's about to come. Something exciting!

Till the next entry!

I for once thought henna was only made for Mehndi; the tradition of painting your hands and feet with henna. For all you mountain tortoise out there, me included, we're in for a treat.

Henna has been used over centuries by both men and women as hair dyes and nails and skin treatment due to its antifungal, antibacterial and healing properties.

My misconception of having tame and shiny hair from rebonding have led me to a costly cycle, which I thought I would be trapped in forever. To constantly deal with a half-natural-half-rebonded hair was a real struggle. And to my horror, each rebonding cycle only made my hair thinner! How can beauty be so destructive?? After a decade of vicious rebonding, I finally jumped on the idea to give my limping and thinning hair a treat. I'm putting a stop to all chemical hair treatments!

As the title suggests, I'm going to talk about my Hairna experience by the ever so passionate team at Syraskins.

I first learned of hairna treatment from my cousins who were dealing with postpartum hair loss. Both had hairna treatment from two different parlours and had positive feedback. To date, I've given both parlours a try but I have to give it to the Syraskins team for their proffesionalism, dedication and passion which got me hooked to Hairna.

Booking your Hairna appointment
Due to their busy schedules, I would suggest to book your appointment atleast 2 weeks prior to secure your preferred date and time.

A $40 deposit will be required once your appointment has been reserved. This can be done via bank transfer. The balance to be completed after the treatment.

Rates are based on your hair length as per image below. This image was extracted from Syraskins.

The whole process will take approximately 2.5hours including blowing and styling of hair.

The moment you step into the parlour you will be greeted by the therapeutic fragrance of henna and a cosy ambience.

Step 1:
Once they have you seated, you will be handed a booklet to read through their services, benefits of Hairna and list of essential oils for you to choose from depending on your scalp condition.

Step 2:
My favourite part, the head massage. To stimulate your scalp prior to the treatment, they will massage the essential oils you've picked earlier for about 15mins. After a long and stressful week, this is worth my every penny! I'm a sucker for anything relaxing.

Step 3:
Henna will be applied to every inch of your hair. This is also a very relaxing process as the henna settles on your head and cools your scalp.

Step 4:
Steam your hair for about 30mins to an  hour.

Step 5:
Wash, blow and styling

The results
My hair instantly feels denser, silkier and has more volume after every treatment. Hair loss and dry scalp has significantly reduced. The condition of my hair has improved over time and many has started noticing.

Due to its nature, henna also adds a tinge of colour to your hair.

I've been advised to have my Hairna treatment once every 2 months. Too much henna will be too drying for your hair. So let's do it in moderation!

I'll let the pictures do the talking. These are the results from our Hairna treatment.

As I feel my hair in disbelief, these are some research I did to how henna works.

"HOW HENNA WORKS ON HAIRLawsonia, is known to bond to protein, which is what hair is made of. Once applied to the hair henna will bind itself to the keratin present in hair and provide a permanent coating to the cuticle of the hair, it does not penetrate the hair, and hence why it is a better alternative to manufactured dyes.......... Because it coats the strands of hair with the Lawsonia it makes the cuticles lie down flatter, which can result in smoother shinier hair with less tangling. Also a lot of people notice that use of henna on their hair is almost like a protein treatment, in that it makes the hair stronger and more resilient to damage and breakage..."

That's all folks! There's only this much I can share. The rest you have to try it for yourself to know the results. For more information for their Hairna services, you can visit their facebook and instagram link below:
